Smart Metering refers to a sophisticated infrastructure for measuring smart devices (Smart Power Meters) that are capable of more efficient communication and more ways of use. Unlike conventional residential electricity meters, these meters are usually equipped with a built-in fault switch or a load control relay.
A characteristic feature of Smart Metering is the remote bi-directional communication between the headquarters and Smart Energy meter. It allows not only the collection of data from the measuring device, its automatic evaluation, but also the control of the network, connection and disconnection of the measured point, the customer's current consumption information, etc.
Smart metering has a wide range of uses. Smart metering delivers greater reliability to the customer, providing regular information on current network status, and savings and incentives for the economy.
